The IISTPUNE Fire Safety Course prepares you for jobs as a fire safety supervisor, fire safety steward or fireman. Half of the course is practical: you will operate extinguishers, run hose reels, use breathing apparatus and practise rescue on our training ground.

Syllabus
- Fire science: fire triangle, classes of fire, heat transfer
- Portable extinguishers: types, PASS method, inspection and refilling
- Fixed systems: hydrants, hose reels, sprinklers, pumps, fire alarm panels
- Rescue methods, knots and lines, breathing apparatus
- First aid, burns, CPR and basic life support
- Industrial safety: PPE, work permits, confined space, electrical and chemical safety
- Fire safety rules in Maharashtra, fire audit and record keeping
- Emergency planning, evacuation and mock drills
Jobs after the course
Students work in manufacturing plants, MIDC units, hospitals, malls, hotels, IT parks, construction sites and housing societies as fire safety supervisors, safety stewards, firemen and fire equipment technicians.
